Meet Emily

Hi! I’m Emily Kronick, a Speech-Language Pathologist native to Walnut Creek. My introduction to the field of Speech-Language Pathology came 8 years ago when working as a camp counselor at The Painted Turtle, a camp for children with life-threatening illnesses. One of my campers was non-speaking and used an AAC device to communicate. Seeing the importance of clear communication, no matter the mode, and its vital role in every individual's life, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in helping others access and strengthen their communication abilities.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Educational Studies at Indiana University. I went on to earn my Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from University of the Pacific. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). I am also licensed by the California Department of Consumer Affairs Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.

I have previously worked in a variety of settings, including a Title I Public Elementary School, a Two Way Dual Immersion Public Elementary School, and a Private Practice. Over the years, my client’s ages have ranged from 12 months to 21 years.

In my spare time, you can find me riding horses in the hills of Mt. Diablo, traveling to new places, going to concerts, reading a good book, and hanging out with my pet (cat) Peeve.

I look forward to collaborating with you regarding your child’s strengths, needs, and interests. A strong partnership between families and therapists is essential for a child’s success.  Communication skills are foundational for learning and I look forward to working with you to best serve your child's needs.
